Berri House

The renovation of the Berri house comes as the family is growing. The living space and kitchen lacked storage and no longer met their needs.

A new wooden volume connects the entrance to the kitchen while incorporating a powder room, a closet, and a pantry. It extends into the kitchen, where it is carved out to integrate the various functions of the space.

The white oak volume is hollowed out to reveal a concrete prep alcove. The sink alcove, also made of concrete, blends seamlessly into the kitchen and frames the opening to the elevated family room, enhancing the connection between the living spaces.

The prep alcove, made of concrete, contrasts with the wooden volume.

The countertop is cast concrete, while the wall, range hood, and shelves are coated with a concrete finish, ensuring material continuity.

The sink alcove also features a cast concrete countertop and backsplash, while the cabinets are covered with the same concrete finish, contributing to the overall cohesion of the space.
